Certified Performance Technologist (CPT) Fast Facts
What is it?
The CPT is an internationally recognised accreditation for performance professionals offered by the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI). It recognises professionals who have demonstrated proficiency in the 10 Standards of Performance Improvement as required by ISPI. A programme is now available exclusively through Improvid Performance Consulting who has been associated with ISPI for more than 15 years.

How do you become a CPT?
Apply for the CPT credential as a standalone, or enrol for a development programme coached individually or in a small group context.
What is different about the CPT?
- The CPT is the only expert and competence-based credential available in the Performance Consulting profession locally and internationally.
- The CPT programme is the first professional certification with a code of ethics together with standards that are based on demonstrated repeatable performance.
- CPT standards are based on demonstrated repeatable performance results in Performance Improvement competence.
What is required?
- A minimum of three years experience in performance related areas.
- A commitment to the ISPI Code of Ethics.
- The submission of no less than three and no more than seven projects that demonstrate the candidate’s ability to meet the ISPI standards.
- Attestation by employers or clients to verify the accuracy of the candidate’s project submissions.
- Successful CPT candidates should re-certify every three years in order to retain their credentials. To achieve this they must comply with minimum professional development requirements over a three-year period.

HPI and Systems Thinking Approach
- Introduction to international Performance Improvement standards, practices, principles, and HPT methodology.
- Apply performance-based systems thinking approach.
SESSION 2
International PI Standards 1 & 2
- Focus on delivering results, not activities.
- Add value to work output and outcomes to any role or job function.
SESSION 3
International PI Standards 3 & 4
- Think and solve problems and opportunities systemically and systematic.
- Work in partnerships to deliver value and results.
SESSION 4
International PI Standards 5 & 6
Identify performance needs, opportunities and gaps.
Analyse causes and remove barriers affecting performance.
SESSION 5
International PI Standards 7 & 8
- Design, develop or source appropriate solutions to close the gap(s) and address problems.
- Ensure design and development conform to the original gap and need and comply with quality assurance.
SESSION 6
International PI Standards 9 & 10
- Implement the desired solution to address the performance problem.
- Develop and manage the change process for sustainability.
- Measure and evaluate the impact of the solution on workplace improvement.
SESSION 7
Technical Application Process
- Two drafts of participants’projects will be reviewed before final submission.
- Present final project applications to ISPI (USA) for final review and approval.
Application Learning Value
The performance coaching sessions are weekly for 2ó hours each. Or put this or all on the front page. Participants will complete practical work in between sessions. Online assistance will be provided during the learning process.
- Apply the Performance Improvement tools, principles and practices for sustainable results.
- Conduct gap and root cause analysis comparing the desired to the actual performance.
- Identify the barriers preventing performance and misalignments.
- Prescribe appropriate solutions to address business needs and avoid unnecessary spending.
- Conduct a performance evaluation to measure the impact of interventions.
- Integrate 10 International Standards for Performance Improvement and become a performance change agent.
